Legislative package with measures to combat and prevent the trafficking of drugs and psychoactive substances

A legislative package proposing measures to combat and prevent the trafficking of drugs and psychoactive substances is subject to public debate.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs announces that among the proposed changes is an increase in prison sentences from 1 to 3 years for risk drugs and from 1 to 5 years for high-risk drugs, in the case of encouraging a person to consume such substances, but also in the case of advertising any products, credibly claiming that they produce drug-like effects when consumed.

It also provides for the regulation of the aggravating circumstance consisting in the possession of drugs for the purpose of consumption in an institution or medical unit of military education, place of detention, social assistance, re-education centers or near them.

Changes are also proposed in the field of road safety.
