President Klaus Iohannis promulgated today the law that more precisely defines the concept of discrimination in the field of labor relations.
The document adopted last month by parliament states that discrimination or dismissal of employees is prohibited on the grounds of race, citizenship or ethnicity, color, language or religion, social origin or genetic traits, sex or sexual orientation, age, disability, chronic non-contagious disease or HIV infection, political preference, family situation or responsibility, membership or trade union activity, membership in any disadvantaged category.
The sanction for violating these provisions is a fine in the amount of 1.000 lei to 20.000 lei.
