President Klaus Iohannis will address the issue of Romania’s accession to the Schengen Area on Friday, 23 June, when he will have a meeting with the President of France, Emmanuel Macron - Iohannis announced before leaving to Brussels for the Summer European Council (22-23 June).
According to RRA Reporter Carmen Gavrilă, the President estimated that Romania was very interested in the first point of the European Council’s agenda: Defense.
Before leaving to Brussels, the President spoke about the political situation in Romania. He shortly described the Prime Minister he would nominate, saying that he must be a righteous man, who will have to be sustained by parliamentary majority.
