In line with the calendar of activities of the Romanian Presidency of the EU Council, Romanian Ministry of National Defense hosted, on 7–8 March, in Bucharest, an Informal Meeting of the Athena Special Committee.
Athena Committee manages the financial aspects of the EU's Common Security and Defense Policy (CSDP) operations having military or defense implications.
Discussions focused on revision of Financial Rules in particular on amending provisions on public procurement.
During the working session, it was emphasized the experience with the current practice in different missions and operations and the audit recommendations with respect to public procurement which indicated the need for amending a number of areas in the current Athena Financial Rules.
