Giurgiu County: DN5 closed for trucks at border crossing Giurgiu-Ruse

Authorities in Giurgiu County (south of Romania) are calling on drivers to stop on National Road (DN) 5 to the Giurgiu - Ruse border crossing point, which is closed for trucks. Recommendation is that they remain in truck parks to avoid crowding.

Due to massive snowfalls, Bulgarian authorities have decided to restrict vehicles with a maximum authorized total weight of more than 12 tons on European Road (DE) 85, between Ruse and Byala, and on European Road 70 between Ruse and Razgrad. That is why tonnage restriction is also imposed on Romanian territory for heavy vehicles traveling to Bulgaria via National Road 5, Giurgiu - Ruse border crossing point, informs Radio Romania Actualități (RRA) correspondent Marcela Petcu.
