General Nicole Ciucă reinstated as Chief of Defense Staff

General Nicolae Ciucă has returned, on Friday, April 5, at command of Romanian Defense Staff after Bucharest Court of Appeal decided on Friday, March 29, to reject request to cancel extension of his mandate. According to military sources, reinstatement became effective as of April 5 at 00.00. Return to office is confirmed by an order of the Minister of National Defense, Gabriel Leş.

Lieutenant General Laurain Anastasof remains first Deputy Chief of Defense Staff, following mandate received by Defense Minister Gabriel Leş, and Major General Vasile Toader is Deputy Chief of Defense Staff for Operations and Training.
