Kandahar Regional Military Training Center held a special training course organized by the Train Advise Assist Command – South (TAAC – South) Coaching Instructors. For five weeks, Afghan National Army soldiers have gained in-depth knowledge of infantry, engineering, first aid, artillery, and explosive disposable defenses. Most of this knowledge was transmitted by the 10 Romanian Military Instructors within the Counseling Team headed by Lt.Col. Mihai Anton.

The ceremony was chaired by Major General EMAM NAZAR,Commander of Afghan National Army 205th Corps, who fights each day Taliban forces in the four provinces of South Afghanistan. On the occasion of the ceremony, General Nazar thanked the Romanian partners deployed now in Afghanistan:

To begin with, I would like to express my thanks to all Romanian soldiers and officers, and especially to the members of the Advise-and-Assist Trainers, which are a model for my soldiers and officers. For example, their presence here has inspired a sense of pride for soldiers, officers, and for us all, through their experience shared during the training courses, they have shown us how to face the evil with our heads up high. We thank the Romanian Army! My thanks to the Romanian officers and soldiers who have trained us! We thank Romania and Romanian citizens! I am happy to be able to express my thanks to the Romanians! Thank you for working side by side with us so that the Afghanistan National Army (ANA) improves day by day in its fight with the forces of evil!

Afghan National Army 205th Corps and 404th Zone Police Corps are fighting together to reject attacks of Taliban fighters and ensure security of the freed areas. They are counseled by the 10 Romanian Military Instructors who have as main objective to generate a credible force able to support the reforms of the Afghan Government and the rule of law.

Train Advise Assist Command – South (TAAC – South) is a multinational military formation, part of NATO's Resolute Support Mission within Afghanistan. It is responsible for provincial reconstruction and security in Zabul, Kandahar, Daykundi, and Uruzgan Province. Its primary Afghan National Army partners are the 205th Corps and the 404th Zone Police Corps.

NATO countries contributing troops are Albania, Canada, France, Netherlands, Romania, Slovakia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Non-NATO countries contributing troops are Australia.
