Romanian Navy has launched a fundraising campaign to sustain the "Mircea" training ship sail around the world, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary since it has been commissioned in the service of the Romanian Military Navy. Fundraising campaign is also carried out by „Gheorghe Balaban” Foundation.
Radio Romania News Correspondent Sorin Cealera: In 1938 there was also a fundraising campaign so that the ship can be build in a shipyard in Hamburg, Germany. "Mircea" training ship has already left 10 days ago in a historic march to Hamburg. Tomorrow is the 80th anniversary since its entry into the service of the Romanian Military Navy.
