Four year old child dies after general anesthesia at the dentist

Four-year-old child died, on Wednesday, at the “Grigore Alexandrescu” Hospital in Bucharest, following two days of coma after being transferred from Pitesti, where he was given general anesthesia at a dental clinic.
Anesthetist doctor Adrian Dinescu said that he respected all the medical protocols and that he used this kind of general anesthesia on children many times in the past.
At the request of the Ministry of Health, the DSP inspectors started to check the respective clinic, to see if the medical protocols were respected. They found out that the doctors here were not allowed to perform total anesthesia because the operating authorization does not show that this office has an ATI section.
DSP inspectors fined the clinic with 20,000 lei. Four investigations are currently in place.
