Five people indicted in the Giuleşti Maternity Ward fire

The General Prosecutor has allowed the trial of five people involved in the case of the fire from the Giuleşti Maternity Ward this summer, in which six babies dies and five were seriously injured.

The General Prosecutor has allowed the trial of five people involved in the case of the fire from the Giuleşti Maternity Ward this summer, in which six babies dies and five were seriously injured.

The people in question are nurse Florentina Cârstea, the head of technical service, Vasile Dima, the former director of the maternity ward, doctor Bogdan Marinescu, head of Neonatology, Ioan Toma Adrian, as well as the hospital electrician, Gigel Oprea.

The Clinical Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynaecology 'Prof Dr. Panait Sârbu' has also been indicted.

The prosecutors claim in their indictment that through its nature, circumstances and consequences, the event is unique on a national level and it has a great social impact.
