Dissatisfied with the delays recorded regarding the collection of money related to the activity for the month of August, family doctors threaten that from October 1st they will only provide consultations to patients for a fee.
The President of the Galati Family Physicians Association, Dumitru Marasescu, declared that the Ministry of Finance is to blame for this situation, which, until now, has not transferred the amounts to the County Health Insurance Funds.
Dumitru Marasescu: Starting from October 1, we will not close the offices, but we will interrupt the relationship with the Insurance House for an indefinite period. That is, the patient will come to the office, he will be consulted if he wants for a fee, but we will not issue compensated prescriptions or referral tickets for various things in relations with insurance companies. The house had to transfer the amount of money related to the month of August by the 18th of the month inclusive. Not even five pennies have been transferred until now, the whole country is the same.
Doctor Dumitru Marasescu also said that it is the first time such long delays are recorded.
In Galati county, of the 436.070 people insured in the public health system, 68.18% do not pay health insurance and only 31.82% pay this contribution, data provided by the Galati County Health Insurance Office.
On the other hand, according to the County Administration of Public Finances Galati, last year, 524.094.954 lei were collected from health contributions paid by a number of 30.461 taxpayers, of which 16.744 were legal entities and 13.717 individuals.
