Romanian Minister-Delegate for European Affairs, George Ciamba, will chair the EU General Affairs Council meeting in Luxembourg on Tuesday, with Multiannual Financial Framework and Common Agricultural Policy on agenda.

Ministers will also prepare EU extraordinary summit scheduled for Wednesday, 10 April, with Brexit as main theme.

RRA Correspondent in Brussels, Amalia Bojescu: "EU Ministers for European Affairs will debate on Article 50 in the presence of European Union's Chief Negotiator for Brexit, Michel Barnier.

In preparation for the European summit of 10 April, Ministers will have exchange of views on the current situation and steps to be followed in the Brexit process.

On Wednesday, EU leaders will analyze request of British Prime Minister Theresa May for a further postponement of Brexit until June 30th, as well as proposal of European Council President Donald Tusk, willing to offer the UK an extension with another year before leaving the bloc, with the option to leave earlier if the London Parliament ratifies the agreement.

Agenda of General Affairs Council meeting of today also includes Multiannual Financial Framework, focusing on Common Agricultural Policy, values of the European Union in Hungary, rule of law in Poland and preparations for the forthcoming elections for the European Parliament".
