Drug use in Bucharest "begins at 12 years”

NAA shows that most consumers have started to use dorguri at the age of 20 but there are consumers aged 12 years.

About a half of the drug users in the capital are graduates.

It's one of the findings of research on substances banned in Bucharest.

The data also show that most of the consumers were born in urban areas and only 5 percent in rural areas.

Also, more than a half of consumers are men.

A worrying figure aims drinking age, most part of the subjects began the consume of drugs around the age of 20, and the lowest age is 12 years.

The study was conducted for the first time in Romania by the NAA.

Sorin Oprea, the director of the agency, said that most of consumers are occasional users.

"Most of respondents are occasional users of two up to three times per week.

"Regarding the age of onset of drugs, most of those who started using drugs at young ages have used heroin, those who started over 34 years consumed equally cocaine, heroin and SNPP, most of them aged between 15 and 34 years have started to use them especially with cannabinoids, so, with cannabis, "says Sorin Oprea.
