Dräxlmaier invests 200 million euros in Timisoara

RADOR - The German company Dräxlmaier has announced plans to develop the factory in Timisoara by tripling the production area equipped with modern technology.

Dräxlmaier has announced an investment of more than 200 million euros in buildings and production equipment that will be implemented over the next six years.

The project will be carried out in several stages and involves the construction of over 40.000 square meters of production areas, warehouses and office buildings.

The factory will produce electronic and high voltage components.

A highlight will be the future battery assembly system for hybrid cars from a premium carmaker starting in 2022.

In addition, more than 1.000 jobs will be created for specialists in the automotive industry.

Mayor Dominic Fritz announced that the municipality will support this investment and congratulated the first Timisoara resident to drive an electric car equipped with a battery manufactured here.

“Timisoara will produce batteries for electric cars from all over the world. With Dräxlmaier's € 200 million investment in e-mobility over the next six years, which we are pleased to announce, our city is positioning itself as a major player in the national and European green technology market. I hope that this investment will lead to other projects in this field, but also a highly qualified workforce for the 1000 jobs that the German company will create in Timisoara", said Dominic Fritz, according to RADIO TIMISOARA.
