Doctors are again calling on the population to come and donate blood. All blood types are needed. Plasma is also missing - which is necessary for those infected with SARS-CoV-2 and who are in serious condition.

Reporter: There is a great need for blood and plasma for patients in serious condition at hospitals in Salaj, but also in other counties.
Dr. Cristina Ilies, Salaj Blood Transfusion Center: The number of donors who step on our doorstep is getting smaller, probably also due to the state we are in now and the people being a little reluctant. I take this opportunity to urge them to come and donate because they are safe at the Transfusion Center. They can help those who are suffering, without risking their lives. We are equipped with boots, masks, they are thermometered at the entrance, we have disinfectant, the staff is equipped with masks, visors, gloves.
Reporter: The urge to donate blood is rising daily, including on social networks. The collected samples will be distributed urgently to the requesting hospitals. People willing to donate are expected daily at the Blood Transfusion Center in Zalau.
