Students will continue to benefit from free rail transport - Deputy Prime Minister Dan Barna assured in a post on a social network.

He explained to the representatives of the National Council of Students, who protested yesterday in Victoriei Square, that in the new budget the Government will take into account the difficulty that many of them face when they have to travel from their hometown to where their educational establishment is located.

According to our editor Felicia Mocanu, the students' representatives also talked today with the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Ludovic Orban.

Reporter: Felicia Mocanu - Horia Onita, ANOSR president said that after two hours of talks with the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Ludovic Orban, he assumed the position of offering students unlimited free travel for rail transport on the route from the place of residence to the university center and back.

The President of the Chamber of Deputies also assured the students that he supports the ANOSR desideratum, included in the governing program, regarding ensuring the participation of students with the right to vote in a percentage of 25% in all relevant decision-making structures, including the election of rectors.

Horia Onita: /.../ Regarding the Government's proposal inserted in the draft Government Emergency Ordinance, which provides for the reduction by 50% on all train journeys for students, the President of the Chamber of Deputies informed us that he supports an amendment to this measure, in the sense of adding unlimited free travel for students to the railway transport, second class, for the tickets from the university center to the locality of domicile and back.

Reporter: In his turn, Rares Voicu, the president of the National Council of Students, presented yesterday in a meeting with the deputy prime minister Dan Barna the proposal not to eliminate the free transport of students. The conclusion of the discussion was clear:

Rares Voicu: The Deputy Prime Minister agreed with this proposal and the Government will act accordingly.
