Code yellow snow, restricted to the North-East of the country

Forecasters have issued a warning Sunday, yellow snow code of blizzard for the counties of Suceava, Botoşani, Iaşi, Bacău, Vaslui, Vrancea, Neamt, Harghita and Covasna.

The alert is valid Sunday, from 10.00 to Monday, at 10.00.

In the range mentioned, will continue to snow in most of Moldova and in the Eastern Carpathians.

It will make new layer of snow, wind gusts will exceed 50-60 km/h, being snowfalls and dispelling the snow and visibility will be reduced, warns the National Administration of Meteorology.

Precipitation, in the form of rain, sleet or snow will be in the south and southwest of the country.

The wind will increase and the rest of the mountain range, on the coast and in the Delta, and in the North of Moldova the intensifications will remain throughout the day Monday.

Yellow code warning of snow cover originally all the counties of the country and entered into force on Saturday evening at 6: 00 pm.

National roads blocked

The Centre of INFOTRAFIC General Inspectorate of Romanian police informs that due to blizzards that blast the snow on the side of the carriageway, road circulation is broken on eight national roads:

• DN29 Botosani – Manoleasa-Prut (Botoşani County);

• DN29A Dorohoi- Radauti Prut, (Botoşani County);

• DN29C Cucorani-Bucecea (Botoşani County);

• DN29D – Botoşani- Ştefăneşti (Botoşani County) ;

• DN24 Vaslui-Iaşi;

• DN24C Santa Mare– Radauti – Prut (Botoşani County);

• DN17A Dorneşti– Bălcăuţi (Suceava);

• DN2F Vaslui – Bacău.

All these roads, it works with specialized machines for the resumption of the road.

Also, motor traffic is hindered on the following sections of roads:

• DN57 Nicolint-Oraviţa (CARAS-Severin County);

• DN57A Pojejena- Socol (CARAS-Severin County);

• DN59 Moravita –border crossing Stamora Moravita (Timiş county) – restrictions for vehicles with a maximum authorised weight of more than 7,5 tonnes;

Schools closed Monday in Botosani

Having regard to the weather warning and national, county and village road condition in Botosani County , the School Inspectorate of Botosani County decided to suspend classes for Monday, 17.12.2012, in all educational establishments in the County of Botosani, says Gina Poenaru.

In Dorohoi and neighboring localities have already appeared the first problems with electricity supply.

Dorohoi Police headquarters remained without electricity for a few hours this morning and there were problems with handling calls 112.

Communications were held only on the stations.

And common Ripiceni remained without electric after electric transformer caught fire.

The ambulance that left Saturday from Mitoc, to take over the 9-month baby who suffered burns, could no longer get to Botoşani.

It remained blocked on the road between Avrămeni and Mitoc.

A couple of hours road equipment trying to move the snow away , but because of blizzards work is in vain.

And in Suceava County nearly 1000 subscribers were left without electricity because of blizzards.
