Code yellow snow for 13 counties and Bucharest

Meteorologists have issued on Tuesday a warning code yellow snow and wind intensification, for 13 counties and the municipality of Bucharest, starting Wednesday from 2 p.m. until Thursday evening at 20.00.

According to the National Meteorology Administration, within the range presented in Dobrogea, southern and Eastern Wallachia and southern Moldova will increase sustained wind, with gusts will exceed 60-70 km/h.

Enter yellow code counties of Vaslui, Vrancea, Galati, Tulcea, Brăila, Buzău, Ialomiţa, Ilfov, Calarasi, Constance, Teleorman, Giurgiu, Prahova (partially) and the municipality of Bucharest.

In these areas it will snow, especially since the afternoon of Wednesday, December 19 , and in the counties of Constanţa, Tulcea, Giurgiu, Ialomiţa and Călăraşi will be blizzard, and visibility will be reduced.

The general manager of the National Administration of Meteorology, Ion Sandu, said in Tuesday's videoconference with prefects of the Executive, that the institution he runs will determine Wednesday whether it will issue an orange code warning relating to the quantities of snow will be in some counties.

"Tomorrow morning it is possible to have orange snow code on the amount of snow that would fall in the counties of Constanţa, Tulcea, Giurgiu, Ialomiţa and Călăraşi.

The Government could make diesel fuel for snow removal

Minister of Administration and Interior, Mircea Duşa, said Tuesday that he has asked Prime Minister Victor Ponta to lay off a hundred tons of diesel oil to clear roads in the counties affected by the heavy snowfalls.

"I proposed to the Prime Minister to release from State reserves a hundred tons of diesel oil, 20 tons for each county that is affected by the snowfalls, to assist the Council in ensuring the functioning of the machinery for the removal," said Mircea Duşa before winter headquarters convened by the premier at the Victoria Palace.

The Minister said that according to weather forecast, will be affected by the snowstorm in the South-eastern the counties of Romania, Vrancea, Galaţi, Brăila, Buzău.

Mircea Duşa emphasized the need to take some preventive measures and alert citizens not to go to these areas, as it is likely to remain stuck in traffic.

Common isolated due to snow

23 municipalities and cities in Botoşani County are still isolated on Tuesday because of snow blocked roads, according to a report by the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU).

ISU report shows that in the night of Monday to Tuesday, 204 people were sleeping in schools, hospitals or private homes, where, by the care of local authorities, were provided optimal conditions for accommodation and food.
