Code yellow of heat until Thursday

The capital and 21 counties from the south and west of the country are under code yellow of heat alert from Tuesday to Thursday, inform NMA.

The National Meteorological Administration issued a heat warning for Bucharest and 21 counties.

Starting Tuesday and until Thursday, temperatures will reach 39 degrees and the temperature-humidity index will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units.

According to the warning, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, the weather will be hot in Crisana, Banat, Oltenia, Muntenia and southwest Transylvania.

Counties covered by yellow code are Bihor, Arad, Timiş, Caraş-Severin, Hunedoara, Alba, Gorj, Mehedinţi, Dolj, Vâlcea, Argeş. Olt, Teleorman, Giurgiu, Dâmboviţa, Prahova, Ilfov, Buzău, Brăila, Ialomiţa and Călăraşi .

In the center of the country and in the southern half of Moldavia, at close range, temperatures will reach 35-36 degrees and will reach the critical threshold of 80 units of thermal discomfort.

The heat wave will continue throughout the week, said the National Meteorological Administration.
