A large-scale operation aimed at raids and searches is taking place during this period under the organization of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Dozens of actions are taking place in several counties in the country that target illegal acts such as: cigarette trafficking, usury, money laundering or blackmail.
One of the operations targets a criminal group that allegedly operated in Bucharest and in four counties, corruption, money laundering and illegal obtaining of driving licenses are being investigated.
Monica Dajbog, spokesperson for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, said: "Among the suspects are employees of the Suceava Permits and Registration Service, but also other persons, without special quality, involved in the illegal activity of obtaining driving licenses and registration of vehicles.
The evidence administered in this case highlighted the creation of a network of intermediation for obtaining a driving license by cheating at the theoretical and practical test in exchange for amounts between 5.000 and 7.000 euros for a license."
Law enforcement raids target company headquarters, the homes of individuals, but also several public institutions, according to Rador.
