CFR supplements trains with railroad cars for refugees

Articol de Radio România Târgu Mureş, 03 Martie 2022, 19:34

CFR Calatori and Infrastructura have supplemented all the train sets that connect Suceava and Sighet with Bucharest with railroad cars. Additional wagons are intended for Ukrainian refugees, and travelling will be free for them.

Trains on the Sighet-Bucharest route run on the Miercurea Ciuc-Brasov route, while from Suceava the journey takes place on the Bacau-Brasov route.

Five train sets run daily from Suceava and two sets from Sighet, and the wagons will be supplemented throughout the events in Ukraine, said CFR Calatori spokesman Adrian Vlaicu.

"CFR Calatori, through its regional branches, has taken the measure of transporting these people wherever they go. In general, the vast majority go to the border points to the west. The effort is shared, between CFR Calatori and CFR Infrastructura, because we provide the wagons but the part of the actual train traffic is ensured by our colleagues from CFR Infrastructura. Practically, any scheduled train that requires the transport of refugees receives an extra wagon or two, depending on the needs, in order to ensure the transport of these people", said the spokesman of CFR Calatori, Adrian Vlaicu.

CFR Calatori informs that on the Suceava-Bucharest and return route, between 10-12 extra wagons were introduced daily, and on Sighet-Bucharest one or two additional wagons were introduced.
