Annual inflation rate up to 4% in December

Annual inflation rate went up to 4% in December 2019, from 3.8% in November same year, when food prices increased by 5.08%, non-food goods by 3.31% and the price services registered an advance of 4.16%, according to data published on Tuesday by the National Institute of Statistics.

National Bank of Romania had declined to 3.8%, from 4.2%, the inflation forecast for the end of 2019 and had estimated a 3.1% inflation by the end of this year, as BNR Governor Mugur Isarescu announced.
