Ambassadors of the EU Member States have decided to accept postponement of the exit of the United Kingdom from the EU on January 31 next year.
It is expected that this decision will be formalized through a written procedure, to avoid an extraordinary summit.
More than three years after the referendum in which 52% of the British voted to leave the European Union, British MPs approved in principle, on October 22, the agreement reached by the European Union with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, but rejected the timetable which he wanted to impose on the legislature.
The United Kingdom was originally supposed to leave the EU on March 29 this year, a deadline already delayed twice, first until April 12 and then until October 31.
