2019: Foreign tourists in Romania mostly for business
Over two million foreigners visited Romania in the first nine months of this year.

Over two million foreigners visited Romania in the first nine months of this year and spent almost 5.5 billion lei, according to Romanian National Institute of Statistics.
Almost half of them came to attend congresses, conferences, courses, fairs and exhibitions.
Foreigners spent almost 50% of their money on accommodation, preferring breakfast included offers.
About 17-18 percent of the expenses were made in restaurants and bars, and a little over 30 percent represented gifts and souvenirs.
80% of foreigners came to Romania by plane, 11% by personal cars and 7% by buses.
