19 towns from Dolj County were included in the future EuroVelo 6 cycling route

19 towns from Dolj County have been included in the future EuroVelo 6 cycling route. The route stretches over a distance of over 350 km, along the Danube, from Drobeta Turnu-Severin to the border with Teleorman County. In an intervention on Radio Romania Craiova, the president of the Dolj County Council, Cosmin Vasile, said that the route represents an important step for the realization of international projects.

Cosmin Vasile: We wanted to have this type of project also because you have a score and you also have better accessibility for everything that cross-border cooperation projects mean. We are preparing projects on the Romania-Bulgaria program and the components there, namely the part of culture and traditions or the part of tourism must also have a continuation or an addition, and precisely the fact that we also have a cycling route on EuroVelo 6, plus cultural objectives, and natural reserves in the area, two ports, Calafat and Bechet, means we can work and, together with the Bulgarian side, identify projects to develop these areas.
