Almost 15000 inhabitants from three cities of Valea Jiului will remain without heat starting Sunday, if the miners are still on strike, because the supplier of thermic agent, the thermo from Paroșeni, has run out of deposits of coal.

According the local authorities, the mayors from Petroșani, Vulcan and Lupeni have received notices from the leadership of the Paroșeni thermo, through which the local managements were informed that it is possible an interruption of the thermic agent at this end of the week.

The director of the Paroșeni thermo, Doru Vișan, declared that they were still 8000 tons of coal Friday within the deposits of the unit, and the daily medium consummation is about 2600 tons.

Read here an analyze of the situation from Valea Jiului seen by the Radio România Actualităţi correspondent in Valea Jiului, Ilie Pintea.

Doru Vișan also declared that the thermo functions with an energetic group, and the ending of this one, unless the delivery of coal will be resumed, will be determined from reasons of exploitation safety.

On the other hand, Mintia thermo has its deposits of coal assured in order to resist the winter, according to the manager of the unit, Tiberiu Borca.

The head of the National Company of Coal (CNH) from Petroșani and a miners’ delegation have left, Friday morning, to Bucharest in order to discuss the miners’ problems with a ministry committee, after the delegation from the capital, announced that it will arrive Tuesday evening, has not arrived.

Since Monday morning, the underground activity is stopped mostly because of the protests.

The only ones that entered the mine during this time were the ones responsible with the work safety and the assurance of ventilation.

The miners request the respecting of the work contract and want increasing by 100 lei of the risk bonus.

The miners’ representatives sustain that this is possible from the financial point of view, the solution proposed in this respect being the increase of the price per ton of coal.
