Romanian Government led by Viorica Dăncilă has been dismissed, on Thursday, following adoption of no-confidence motion tabled by the Opposition, voted by 238 members of parliament.

233 votes were enough for the motion to pass and for the government to fall.

Signatories described this government as the most toxic over the past 30 years and that they would replace it with a responsible government and governing program focused on developing and modernizing the country and ensuring real prosperity for each Romanian citizen.

Motion - titled "To rebuild Romania, the Dăncilă government must be urgently dismissed" - had already been endorsed by MPs from all political spectrum, including National Liberal Party, Save Romania Union, People's Movement Party, Democratic Union of Ethnic Hungarians in Romania, Pro Romania, Alliance of Liberals and Democrats, group of ethnic minorities, an independent MP and even Social Democrat MPs.

Constitutionally, it's President Klaus Iohannis who will play an important role from at this point on. Head of State is supposed to hold talks with all parliamentary parties before appointing a new Prime Minister. PM-designate will then have ten days to form a Cabinet and come up with a governing program, which he or she will then submit to Parliament for a vote of confidence.

According to the official announcement, 399 parliamentarians were present in Parliament today. Of these, 245 voted - 242 votes casted correctly and 3 canceled.
