Employees from Oltchim require union leaders replacement, informs Radio Romania correspondent, Anamaria Cârstea.

For now they have given up the idea of setting up a new Union and collect signatures for the resignation of the current leadership of Free Union Oltchim.

All of these signatures will be presented Friday at 9: 00, at the general meeting, when prompted the resignation of the entire Executive Committee.

Even if at the beginning of the day employees announced the willingness to set up a new trade union, following discussions it was decided to maintain the current trade union, but under a different leadership, the establishment of a new one being lengthy.

To the decision of employees from Oltchim, yet according to represent them, said Mihai Diculoiu, said that they did not understand, but that will still represent him, hoping that following the discussions scheduled Thursday at 15: 00 at the Ministry of Economy to resume work to Oltchim.

Depending on the discussions at the Ministry, talks will decide whether employees protesting Friday, too.

Oltchim employees have resumed protests

The protests also have continued at Oltchim plant on Thursday.

Approximately 100 trade unionists gathered this morning in front of the plant to ask for the resignation of the union leader .

They have discontinued work, but mentioned that anyway the Oltchim activity doesn’t suffer too much given that debts due to extremely high to the electricity company at the moment, at the company from Râmnicu Vâlcea only operates the emergency facilities.

Minister for Social Dialogue, Liviu Pop, said at TVR that today to be appointed a new manager at Galati Oltchim.

Representatives of trade unions from Oltchim come Thursday in Bucharest for discussions at the Ministry of Economy, the editor of Radio Romania, Elena Timmerman.

Free trade union leader Oltchim, Mihai Diculoiu says he hopes to have a meeting with Prime Minister Victor Ponta to ensure the success of privatization and the conversion of debts into shares.

Oltchim "will be privatised"

The situation of the enterprise from Râmnicu Vâlcea , but also planned privatisation of other state-owned companies were discussed Wednesday in the cabinet session, told us the Radio Romania reporter, Petruţa Obrejan.

Prime Minister Victor Ponta says that Oltchim will be privatized.

He considered that the CFR Marfă and Oltchim need powerful investors, as well as a new type of management that make them profitable and secure existing jobs.

"Mr. Minister, Chiţoiu, are responsible for the success of privatization from Oltchim. Fortunately, we have not one, but two big companies. The important thing is to save our jobs, to give a message to the whole area Vâlcea,, Argeş, that Arpechim is concerned, we maintain that the jobs and actually create new jobs through major investments ", said Victor Ponta.

The Government is preparing for the next period a number of changes to both Metrorex that will be taken over by the City Hall, as well as at other companies also said Premier Victor Ponta.

"I agree that Metrorex to switch from City Hall to the Ministry of Transport. That's a change of structure. Protests and resignations from Oltchim

Nearly 300 employees from Oltchim protested Wednesday in the yard plant on delaying making a decision about its situation, but also because for two months have not received wages and meal tickets .

Minister Liviu Pop confirmed that Tuesday, the manager Constantin Roibu resigned along with the entire management of the company.

Constantin Roibu, who was manager from Oltchim for 21 years, has asked employees to give up the protest because the problems will be resolved.

"This restlessness and these demonstrations in front of the society will not only lead to the possible removal of the investors and it's good for people to stay calm. In a few days, the crisis unit was set up at the Ministry of Economy will find solutions to bring money, working capital for restarting the plant equipments and granting the current salaries to the people, "said Liviu Pop.

But unionists say they will not abandon the protests until the Government will determine that the company would be privatised bundled with Arpechim Piteşti refinery Piteşti , but also with processing claims into shares.

Two weeks ago the Government has changed the privatization strategy of Oltchim.

The date of the auction for the sale of the plant was set for September 18.
