The postponement of the decision regarding the raise of the salaries and the pension indexation, the rumored options for the premier position in case the current chief of the Government and Romania’s alternative for the project Nabucco - are some of the subjects in today’s newspapers.

“Wage increases are out of question” headlines the Evenimentul Zilei.

The IMF mission head in Romania, Jeffrey Franks, considers that it is still early to discuss about changes regarding the salaries and pensions, but emphasizes that it remains to be seen during the second semester of the year whether the economy will be fine.

The analysts interviewed by the publication mentioned above, think that, judging on the worsening of the situation in the euro area, it is hard to believe that there will be place for wage increases starting from June.

The Evenimentul Zilei also announces “Traian Băsescu’s great surprise”.

The author of the article comments that the president will test today, at the consultations from Cotroceni, the support for a technocratic premier.

But this is not the only option taken into account – declared for this newspaper Sulfina Barbu, the Minister of Labor.

At the same time, there is also outlined a scenario about the politic evolution of Premier Emil Boc, in the eventuality of his resignation.

The Adevărul reveals: “Mihai Răzvan Ungureanu, most likely to replace Boc”.

The publication claims that the president Traian Băsescu proposed to the Foreign Intelligence Service executive to become a candidate for prime minister in case Emil Boc resigned.
The opinions of some Liberal Democratic Party members about this subject are also taken into account.

We change the area of interest with the Romania Liberă, which estimates that “Europe will continue to depend on the Russian petroleum” under the circumstances in which “the project NABUCCO is close to collapse”.

The Cotidianul adds that Romania is not totally out of the “Caspian petroleum game” and it depends on the authorities from Bucharest to make full use of the right to exploit 10% of a gas field in the Caspian Sea.

Finally, the Jurnalul Naţional presents an interview with the head of the National Weather Forecasting Centre from the National Meteorological Administration, Florinela Georgescu.
She mentions that the weather during this time of the year is normal for Romania, and she makes a synthesis of the forecast for the next week, but also for the rest of this month.
