“The government gets on the wrong side of former owners” –headlines Adevărul regarding the draft that provides timing to 10-12 years of damages for nationalized houses, which will be paid within the limit of 15 percent of actual property.

On the one hand, the daily marks the government’s explanation for this initiative, and on the other hand it marks the reaction of ex-owners’ representatives, who declare themselves scandalized by the Executive’s intentions.

The president of the Romanian Civic Forum –organization which represents the owners’ interests –has drawn attention that, if the draft becomes law, Romanians will line up for European Court of Human Rights (CEDO).

Adevărul also announces “Election 2012: single vote also on the lists” –making reference to the changes brought to the Electoral Law.

The parliamentarian commission for elaborating the electoral code has decided yesterday that half of the electoral colleges will be adopted by majority uninominal voting, and half on a compensation list.

The author of the article explains what means the mixed voting system at the upcoming elections and estimates which would be the advantages or disadvantages for the parties.

Regarding the electoral code România Liberă also writes and offers details regarding the way in which the debates within the committee have ensued yesterday, but also regarding the reasons for which the Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania( UDMR) has rejected the pure uninominal idea, agreed though by the Democratic Liberal Party(PDL) and the Social Liberal Union(USL).

The publication adds that yesterday, concomitant with the works of the election code commission, the Senate has silently adopted –which means without debate –a draft through which their presence at voting will be compulsory.

The document stipulates that the person who do not vote at one voting risks a fine of 1,000 lei, and at second debate, apart from the fine, will be possible also the access blocking for his allowance, aids or fiscal facilities from the state’s budget.

“University tuition fees go up. Students, alerted” reveals Evenimentul Zilei, which sustains that for the young people with medium and low results, the faculty is more expensive, and that the education is free only for elite students.

The daily specifies that universities will establish within the following period tuition fees for the university year 2012-2013 and a part of the rectors have already expressed their intention to increase them.

In the end, Jurnalul Naţional presents the Holland ambassador’s declaration, who has not been accredited yet. The official states that he waits for his appointment at the Presidency and outlines that until then he will be occupied with his own business, because he is professionally active.

Details about the Holland ambassador’s statements regarding Romania’s accession to Schengen but also regarding the intentions that Hague has on the labor market restrictions –you find within the daily.
