Joint Declaration by Lithuania, Poland and Romania on Belarus

oana-bala

The presidents of Lithuania, Poland and Romania have signed a joint declaration in support of the democratization of the Republic of Belarus, through free elections, a free civil society, a market economy and the rule of law.

The three heads of state also said it would be useful for the European Union to propose a consistent package of assistance to the Belarusian economy, a liberalized visa regime and assistance to the country's energy security.

At the end of the joint statement, the presidents of the three countries, including President Klaus Iohannis, called on the international community to join the European Union in supporting the political, economic and social transition of the Republic of Belarus.
